What is robotic surgery?
Robotic surgery is a highly technical laparoscopic approach to pelvic surgery that allows the surgeon to perform difficult procedures through only a few small incisions.
What are the benefits of robotic surgery?
The procedure allows more difficult procedures to be done as an outpatient procedure. The results are less pain, almost zero bleeding and much faster recovery time.
When do you use robotic surgery?
We prefer to use robotic surgery for almost all of our GYN procedures, however, there are several cases that will not allow the robotic approach to be used. If the pelvic issues are too severe or too large, an open incision is the preferable route.
Does insurance pay for robotic surgery?
Yes, insurance will pay for robotic hysterectomy, myomectomy, sacrocolpopexy, liysis of adhesions or other pelvic or GYN problems.
